KINGDOM COME to Release Outlier May 7th in North America on Steamhammer/SPV
Today is a red-letter day for fans, and for the media at large an important date which makes their representatives prick up their ears: Lenny Wolf and KINGDOM COME are set to release their new studio album Outlier May 7thin the USA, picking up with ten powerful rock songs where his long tradition of fascinating studio albums left off. At the same time, mastermind Lenny is starting a new chapter of his diverse creative career, expertly positioning his charismatic voice on Outlier between traditional rock structures and modern sound elements, which add a third dimension to this album.
"I simply felt the need to delve deep inside of me and run riot in the infinite expanse of the audio cosmos. The result is a friction of mercilessly mechanical, heartless sound collages, combined with my typical melancholy-melodious style," Wolf explains the album's artfully interwoven experimental approach to his sound, which never detracts from the familiar atmospheric basic mood of his songs. "A whole number of souls happen to dwell in my breast, which is why experimentation and the development of my musical existence simply belong together."
Outlier was recorded at Wolf's own Hamburg studio, the Two Square Noise Factory. With the exception of the solo guitar parts contributed by Eric Förster, all instruments were recorded by the KINGDOM COME boss himself. In addition, Wolf produced, engineered, mixed and mastered his new album. "Eighteen-months of struggle and madness lie behind me, a period which saw me go through the usual alternating bath of euphoria and doubt. As an artist, you can never be quite sure just what you've cooked up, but I happen to be an idealist and simply have to keep embarking on new adventurous journeys. The path of predictability has never satisfied me."
Outlier is KINGDOM COME's first studio album featuring completely new material since the arrival of their 2009 release Magnified and will be released as CD and download worldwide through SPV / Steamhammer.

Chicago thrashers DIAMOND PLATE have begun recording their new studio album, which is due to be released later this year on Earache Records.
The as-yet untitled follow-up to DIAMOND PLATE's 2011 debut album, GENERATION WHY?, is being recorded with producer NEIL KERNON (JUDAS PRIEST, NEVERMORE, DEICIDE, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD) at Studio Chicago in the band's hometown.
DIAMOND PLATE lead guitarist KONRAD KUPIEC comments:
"We are beyond excited to announce that we are in the studio recording our second album! The legendary Neil Kernon is helping us capture the new songs and the new energy of the band in the traditional way that classic records were made. We decided to step away from the modern approach to albums by recording the band playing live in the same room together and keeping everything real. Everybody can expect this record to be faster and heavier than ever, but most of all they can expect the unexpected."

HAVOK: “Point Of No Return” Video Premiere Hosted By
Bloody Disgusting
HAVOK’s latest video has premiered today via Bloody Disgusting. “Point Of No Return” is the title track to the band’s EP, released last Spring as a tide-me-over while the band continued their non-stop touring. The video was directed by Roy Warner and filmed on location in Detroit, Michigan.
Discussing the video, vocalist/guitarist Dave Sanchez elaborates, "The lyrics of ‘Point Of No Return’ are highly interpretable, but the message of the video pretty simple: The world as we know it is a delicate place and we have never had such a high capacity to destroy the human race as we do now. At some point, our self-made concoction of nuclear/biological weaponry, ancient superstitious beliefs, nationalism, corruption, ignorance, and conflicting ideologies is going to become lethal, on a global scale. We live in a time like no other and it’s obvious that if we don’t change our behavior, it’s only a matter of time before the world is extinguished at the hand of fanatics. It’s literally within everyone’s power to leave the world a little nicer than we found it. Don’t believe everything you’re told: Think for yourself.”
Director Roy Warner notes, “Working with the guys from HAVOK was great. They had awesome ideas to start out with and build from; wanting to showcase real life as the concept. It really illustrates the depths of human depravity in the past, present and what we can expect from the future if attitudes don’t change.”

HAVOK, called “the finest thrash band in existence” by PopDose, released their full-length debut, Burn, mid-2009. The record found an immediate fanbase and the curiosity of media around the globe. Time Is Up would follow in 2011. “HAVOK have hit their stride,” said Decibel Magazine in review of the album. “HAVOK is everything that is great about thrash,” added Terrorizer. Now with the band busy at work recording their new full-length, anticipated for early summer release, HAVOK fans can expect the Denver-based thrashers to keep an active schedule for 2013. Sanchez says, “We’re currently wrapped up in the studio writing our new album. We should be finished recording in March and then, in usual HAVOK fashion, we’ll tour practically all year! There are lots of exciting things coming up in 2013. Keep an eye out for tour dates and we’ll see all of you on the road soon! Until then, spread the word and support heavy metal."
HAVOK is guitarist/vocalist Dave Sanchez, bassist Jesse de los Santos, guitarist Reece Scruggs, and drummer Pete Webb.
THE SECRET Unleashes “Seven Billion Graves” Video
Italy’s most caustic metal/hardcore outfit THE SECRET has unleashed an official video for their nihilistic cry against humanity, "Seven Billion Graves." Directed by Shazzula Nebula, the video was released via Scion AV, and was posted first at Invisible Oranges today, who sums it up quite well, stating: “There’s no story, no band members, and indeed, no humans present. Cameras roam the remains of dead civilizations or skitter over broken terrain. All is rendered in greys and blacks. It’s a grim vision, and a fair aesthetic match for THE SECRET’s stark metalcore. No rounded edges or straight lines here.”
Help THE SECRET dig "Seven Billion Graves" now.
The fourth album from THE SECRET, the decimating Agnus Dei is the most lethal weapon in this unique Italian attack squad’s broadening arsenal, coalescing the most destructive elements of crust, black metal and hardcore with the force of tectonic plates, constructed of monolithic riffs, taking the listener on a hallucinated trip towards a hazy tomorrow. Recorded by Kurt Ballou (High on Fire, Converge, Black Breath) at Godcity Studios, Agnus Dei received bewildered praise from media across the planet and has appeared in dozens of journalist and zine year-end lists.

ABSU Announces Special North American Tour
ABSU today announces details on their upcoming tour, titled North American Connexus Conjuration. The 26-city tour will see the band perform two full sets with music spanning their 20-year recording career. It is the first full tour by the Texas-based mythological occult trio since the release of Abzu, the second of a planned trilogy of recordings.
Vocalist/drummer Proscriptor shares, “Since the release of our latest recording, Abzu, the response has been extremely vehement and now is the perfect moment to commemorate the album’s essence throughout North America. We purposely waited until the timing was ideal to embark on this journey, as we shall contaminate the communities with our craft of Mythological Occult Metal. We’re attempting to divide the concerts into two sections: the first act will showcase songs spanning from our entire discography, as the second act will focus on Phase Two from the album Tara: The Cythrául Klan’s Scrutiny. For the past couple of years, many of ABSU’s followers have requested specified songs from this chapter of Tara, so it is our aspiration to give the people what they want.”
Abzu, the band’s seventh studio album, was released October 2010. The album was mixed by J.T. Longoria (King Diamond/Solitude Aeternus) and features original works by Polish artist Zbigniew Bielak (Watain, Behemoth, Destroyer 666, Vader). Proscriptor commented, "With this record, we are appending dirtier elements of psychedelia and fusion. Lyrically, it descends deeper into Enki's lower world as well the Enochian Magic(k) System." He added, "This album is not a 'natural progression' from previous releases, but a feat of metaphysical conquest and murkiness."
ABSU came to prominence with the release of their 1993 debut, Barathrum: V.I.T.R.I.O.L. Each album saw continual expansion of the band’s now highly regarded artistic vision and international fanbase. It was with 2001’s Tara that the band truly arrived. The album reached top lists of countless magazines worldwide. Years, however, would pass before any new material would be recorded. In late 2007, the band finally announced their re-awakening. Now teamed with London-based Candlelight Records, the band would take nearly sixteen months writing/recording their sixth album. Absu, featuring contributions from members of King Diamond, Mayhem, Melechesh, Firstborn and Enthroned, was released early 2009.

ABSU currently features guitarist Vis Crom and bassist/vocalist Ezezu with vocalist/drummer Proscriptor.
“An energizing sprint through black metal, bedrock thrash, symphonic flourishes, and arcane mythological references... layers of density define the record-- in sonics, in lyrics, in the completely triumphant, surprisingly melodic manner in which it merges the two. Perfect and immense.” – Pitchfork
“A lightning storm of industrial shred and kick-drum retribution spews fire atop Necromancer vox and shattered glass arrangements.” - Austin Chronicle
“Keyboards and guitars swell and recede with purpose. Thrash riffs fire cleanly in tandem with Proscriptor McGovern’s battery. It smells of click track, but he is still the best drummer in black metal, bar Frost. Absu has brought the Necronomicon into the age of Kindle. Say hello to the 21st century.” - Invisible Oranges
“Should you buy this album? Absu-fucking-lutely!” - MetalSucks

What's up Metal Heads? Here's your morning Metal News so far! Have a good one!
AMARANTHE Confirms Release of Brand New Studio Album, ‘The Nexus’ – Hitting Stores on March 26th in the U.S. and March 25th Internationally via Spinefarm Records
Brand New Single and Music Video for ‘The Nexus’ Available NOW on VEVO
Fast-rising modern metal sextet AMARANTHE will release their sophomore album, The Nexus, internationally on March 25th and in the United States on March 26th via Spinefarm Records.
Produced by Jacob Hansen (whose credits include Volbeat, Dreamshade & Ginger Wildheart, and who worked on AMARANTHE’s 2011 self-titled debut), The Nexus sees the Swedish/Danish outfit further honing a musical style that blends cutting-edge melodic metal with soaring pop melodies, topped off by a unique three-vocal attack.
Says guitarist and band co-founder Olof Morck, “The moment has come to let loose The Nexus on an unsuspecting world! This time we went all the way with our futuristic dream-nightmare - a no-compromise vision steeped in deep contrast between the mechanically ultra-heavy and shimmering serene melody. The Nexus is everything we dreamed about doing with our debut album; we laboured to make this offering as diverse as it is direct and catchy… and remember, no-one can be told what The Nexus is – you have to hear it for yourself!”
A new single/video – title track, The Nexus – became available from all usual outlets/platforms on January 25th. The clip has been directed by Patric Ullaeus, who has worked with names such as In Flames, Arch Enemy and Dimmu Borgir; he was also responsible for AMARANTHE video for ‘The Hunger’, the lead single from the band’s highly successful debut, now at a whopping 3.5 millionYouTube views (and counting). Watch the new video on VEVO now at this link.
Olofalso states, “We wanted the newvideo to have a decidedly cinematic feel, in the vein of a Hollywood action movie, with a slightly darker angle than our previous promos. We wanted lots of extras & explosive action scenes, and we knew that Patric was just the man for the job!”
In Support of Album One, which made an international impact right from the start, hitting the charts in several countries, the band played shows around the world, mixing special guest spots (opening for Hammerfall, Kamelot & more) with headline outings and festival appearances; the latter included Loud Park in Japan (where the album has sold in excess of 30,000 copies, topping the Japanese import charts ahead of Lady Gaga!), Bloodstock in the UK, ProgPower in the US and Wacken in Germany…
In Sweden, meanwhile, on the back of unswerving support from Bandit Radio, who presented them with the ‘Breakthrough Artist’ award (one of several on the AMARANTHE mantlepiece), the band played a triumphant homecoming show in August 2012, appearing in front of a 10,000-strong crowd at Liseberg Amusement Park in Gothenburg.
All of which means that The Nexus (the single, the video, the album) is a much-anticipated arrival, but with newtracks such as ‘Afterlife’, ‘Invincible’, ‘Mechanical Illusion’ and likely second single ‘Burn With Me’ showing just how effective the band’s hybrid style can be, 2013 should see AMARANTHE building spectacularly on the international plaudits and successes of the past two years; already, the six have an extensive on-the-road plan locked into place, starting with
a run of dates in Finland, followed by a co-headline Europeantour with Finnish metallers Stratovarius in March; this will see the band visiting 13 different countries, from Slovakia through to Spain, then the spring/summer will be spent at a variety of major European festivals – Sweden Rock, Nova Rock in Austria, Graspop in Belgium, Tuska in Finland, Metaltown & Getaway in Sweden, and more, with the Full Metal Cruise (leaving from Hamburg, Germany) lined up for May.
UK headline dates are currently being lined up for early spring, the band’s fifth visit to UK shores, and the details of all confirmed shows can be found at: www.amaranthe.se
DEMON LUNG Completes Recording Of Debut
Las Vegas-based doomsters DEMON LUNG have now completed initial recording of their debut album at Sharkbite Studios, in Oakland , California . The album is currently being mixed by Billy Anderson at his studio in Portland , Oregon with an anticipated release late this Spring.
Las Vegas Weekly recently included DEMON LUNG on their Top 10 Local Bands To Watch In 2013. Drummer Jeremy Brenton confirmed to the newspaper that the album will be a concept about “the long begotten son of Satan, who’s been sent to earth to assemble the three parts of the devil’s bible so that we can speak the name of god in reverse and undo creation.” He adds, “when you say it out loud it’s pretty funny, but it’s some pretty epic sh*t.”
Candlelight announced the signing of DEMON LUNG on November 28th. The band features guitarist Phil Burns, bassist Patrick Warren, and vocalist Shanda Fredrick with Brenton. MY SOLILOQUY: Debut From UK Prog Metal Magicians Out Now
Full Album Streaming Via This Is Not A Scene
The debut album from English progressive metal magicians MY SOLILOQUY, The Interpreter, is officially in stores across the globe today through Sensory Records.
With praise of MY SOLILOQUY’s diversified and creative professional approach rolling in from trustworthy prog/metal media outlets via reviews of The Interpreter, the long-awaited debut has already clearly helped solidify the band’s name within the upper ranks of contemporary progressive metal.
To celebrate its release, today online metal portal This Is Not A Scene is streaming MY SOLILOQUY’s The Interpreter in its entirety. Check it out HERE.
Formed by multi-instrumentalist Pete Morten of British prog metal legends Threshold, the essence of MY SOLILOQUY is pure forward-thinking metal – symphonic keyboards, shredding guitar leads, soaring vocals – all finely woven together through a blend of intricacy and melody. Following a pair of demos and an EP, Sensory is proud to finally unleash the newly-completed first full-length from this act. With nearly all instrumentation on the recording executed solely by Pete Morten, minus the drumming, The Interpreter flows with over fifty minutes of grand musicianship, expertly mixed and mastered by Rob Aubrey, a mainstay of Marillion’s camp for many years.
"...sure to spark the interest of Threshold's fans and they won’t be disappointed once they hear My Soliloquy's excellent modern progressive metal... this release is more diverse throughout. 4.5/5" - Sea Of Tranquility
"...an exceptional album of progressive metal and strongly recommended. 4.5/5" - Dangerdog Music Reviews
"...there are echoes from Zero Hour, Silent Force, Manticora & obviously and influence from association with Threshold... with most of the songs clicking in at 6-7 minutes, there is room for this band to move around and really break the rules of simple song structures, yet honoring the knack to create hooks and catchiness. 4/5" - Ytsejam
Interviews with Pete Morten and review copies of The Interpreter are available now upon request.

SEEKER VOCALIST COMMENTS ON UPCOMING U.S. TOUR, HINTS AT NEW SINGLE Tour with Corelia and I, Omega to kick off next month |
DALLAS, TX - Dallas heavy metal act on the verge, Seeker, has commented on the band's upcoming string of February U.S. tour-dates with headliner, Corelia, and I, Omega.
"We're always excited to be on the road, and the fact that both bands are full of such outstanding musicians makes this tour even better," said vocalist Bryce Lucien. "We've been working extremely hard to step up the insanity of our live show and we will be playing quite a bit of new material on this run, so we're definitely ready to get back out in front of our old fans and hopefully make some new ones. Be on the lookout for a new song premiere in the coming weeks. See you on the road."
The upcoming run will commence Valentine's Day 2013 in St. Louis, Mo. following the release of a brand new single set to drop early February. A full list of confirmed dates can be seen below.
Seeker burst onto the scene in late 2011, playing its first show on October 1st before heading out on its first tour the following week. Lucien describes the band's sound as, "fast, aggressive, pissed off heavy metal. Everything we do is very raw, passionate and honest."
Seeker released its debut EP 'The Antagonist' last spring for free via the official Seeker Bandcamp page at: http://seeker.bandcamp.com/album/the-antagonist.
A music video for the track "Serpent Skin" surfaced last fall and can be seen on YouTube at: http://youtu.be/tLCnc_mHwLg.
With new music on the horizon and a full touring schedule planned for the first half of the year, the current lineup - guitarist Justin Edgerton, vocalist Bryce Lucien, drummer Dustin Weaver and bassist Chris Keasler - is poised to take the band to the next level behind a blue-collar, DIY approach and a non-stop 2013 schedule.
"The fact that anyone cares and comes to our shows is something we're always surprised by and very proud of," added Lucien. "We've gotten to tour the country several times over, met a ton of really amazing people, and released music that we're still excited to play every night...and we've done all of this completely on our own. We are DIY to our core. We realized very quickly that if we were going to make this happen we would have to step up and create our own future."
Stay tuned to the official Seeker Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/seekertx for new music and tour-dates. |

ENABLER: Milwaukee Killers To Drop New EP With Think Fast!
Band To Assault Europe With Martyrdöd And Rotten Sound
Following their civilian and critic-lauded All Hail The Void LP, released last year via Southern Lord, Milwaukee’s venomous metal/hardcore quartet ENABLER is set to drop a crushing new EP this Spring via Think Fast! Records.
ENABLER’s upcoming Shift of Redemption EP features four brand new tracks from the Brew City killers, and while a rapid release, showcases the band expanding their infectious brand of sonic violence into new territory. The recording lineup for Shift of Redemption included founding guitarist/vocalist Jeff Lohrber and bassist Amanda Daniels as on All Hail The Void, and welcomes new lead guitarist Eric Dunn (By Way of Sunstorm, ex-Harlots) and drummer Dave Mann (Mouth of the Architect). The brutal anthems were recorded by Shane Hotchstetler at Howl Street Recordings, mixed by Chris Common (Pelican, These Arms Are Snakes), and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (From Ashes Rise, Sleep, High on Fire), with artwork provided by Raf W. The EP is now confirmed for release via Think Fast! Records worldwide on April 9th via digital download and 7”; the first pressing limited to 1,000 copies, with 350 copies pressed on gold wax and 650 on clear.
Preceding the release of Shift of Redemption, ENABLER will trek across the Atlantic for their maiden Europe tour. Confirmed for a sixteen-city massacre alongside Finnish grinders Rotten Sound and Swedish crust/metal squad Martyrdöd, the mayhem will begin with a sendoff show in Dayton, Ohio on February 18th. ENSIFERUM will be touring in support of their mammoth Unsung Heroes full-length released in North America last Fall viaSpinefarm Records U.S. Produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, Sentenced, Apocalyptica), with special guest appearances by members of Die Apokalyptischen Reiter and legendary Finnish singer/actor, Vesa-Matti Loiri, Unsung Heroes continues to earn praise from critics and fans domestically and abroad. “…Mount the longboats, light the torches, and prepare for battle,” warns Metal Injection, while Outburn gushes, “Unsung Heroes is a totally solid entry ionto the hallowed halls of Valhalla made by a band that knows what it’s doing,” commending its “epic scope and reliance on catchy melodies.” Stereokiller boasts, “This is nothing short of amazing, beautiful in every way possible.” Elaborates Blistering in an 8/10 rating: “ENSIFERUM weren’t necessarily the first band out of the epic/folk gate, but they’re probably the best… One jaunt through 2009’s thoroughly captivating From Afar supports that notion, as the Finns were able to brandish a mighty sonic sword that kept the speed on 10, the jovial acoustics ‘a hustling, and above all else, managed to bring a sort of mild sophistication to a style that is usually anything but. Essentially, ENSIFERUMdoesn’t play the stupid, folk metal game, and on Unsung Heroes, they manage to stay the course with sterling results.”

Chicago death metallers BROKEN HOPE have now posted a new EPK, which includes a brief recap of the band's history, information about their upcoming album, and more. To watch it, please click the link below:
http://www.brokenhope.com/EPK.html
In regards to BROKEN HOPE's new album, Jeremy Wagner (guitars) comments: "We finished writing the new BROKEN HOPE album and plan to start recording in March with Chris Djuric at Belle City Sound and Scott Creekmore at Mercenary Digital Studios. As reported recently, the 11 tracks include, 'The Flesh Mechanic' and 'Give Me the Bottom Half'...and these are just the tip of a massive and sick iceberg. We plan to turn this new monstrosity in to Century Media in May--before our appearances at Extremefest (Germany) and Maryland Death Fest 2013."
BH was formed in 1988 by Wagner while he was in high school. Shortly after formation, they recorded two demo tapes and signed with indie label, Grind-Core Records. Then in 1991, they released their debut album, Swamped In Gore, launching the band out of the underground and into the mainstream. From there, the band signed to Metal Blade Records and released three more albums, all stellar examples of BH's fury, which etched their place in death metal history.
After BH's last album (1999's Grotesque Blessings) and world tours, Wagner cleaned house and put BH into "metal hibernation" in 2000. On January 20, 2010, original BH vocalist Joe Ptacek tragically committed suicide. He was only 37 years old. Before his death, Ptacek met with Wagner and Glass and discussed the resurrection of BH. With Ptacek's death, Wagner and Glass took time off to reconsider their next moves.
In 2012, BH signed with Hard Impact Management and vowed to make BH a full-time monster-- forever. Wagner and Glass recruited longtime friend and GORGASM vocalist, Damian Leski, as their new vocalist, and shortly after marked their return on the highly successful Carnival of Death tour. BH's high-intensity COD concerts received top-praise, and confirmed BH was back, and more rabid than ever. BH is currently booked for the 2013 editions of Extremefest (Germany) and Maryland Death Fest.
BH's first decade was filled with non-stop writing, touring, and constant visibility. The next chapter in their career will be even more productive as the band vows to never go away again.

Battlecross To Enter The Studio Next Month; New Album Scheduled For Summer Release
Band set to hit the road this weekend with In Flames and will make its first appearance at New England Metal Fest in April
Detroit Thrashers Battlecross have announced that they will enter the studio next month to record their follow-up to their 2011 Metal Blade debut Pursuit of Honor, which topped the Sirius XM Liquid Metal charts, garnered great reviews and earned the band high profile tours, including last summer's Trespass America Festival Tour with Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage and Trivium. The band will begin recording immediately after the 'Another Year, Another Tour' with In Flames, Demon Hunter and All Shall Perish for 27 North American dates that begins on February 2 in Ft. Lauderdale.
Battlecross will look to Mark Lewis and crew at Audiohammer Studios in Florida to record their follow up to 2011/2012's breakout album, scheduled for release in summer 2013. Lewis, responsible for the production and/or engineering for bands such as The Black Dahlia Murder, Trivium, Devil Driver, and Deicide said, "I can't wait to be a part of Battlecross' next record. From the moment I heard the band I knew I wanted to be a part of their development. Hearing the new music has only solidified that feeling. Working with our good friends at Metal Blade and bringing great new music to the masses is what it's all about."
Eyal Levy will handle engineering duties on the record and Armored Saint's Joey Vera, who mastered the band's cover version of Pantera's "Fucking Hostile," will master.
Guitarist Hiran Deraniyagala says the band is "stoked to be working with a prolific studio and producer at Audiohammer. We're so focused on making a killer follow up album and we feel that Mark Lewis will help bring our raw, live sound to life."
Metal Blade President Michael Faley said, "2013 is destined to be big year for Battlecross starting with a tour with In Flames in February, followed by recording the new album with Mark Lewis in March and April. We have high expectations for the bands sophomore effort which will be released to coincide with a massive tour this summer (stay tuned for details). We are excited by the band's "non-stop" approach which has landed them on significant tours and support from Jose Mangin at Sirius XM Liquid Metal. Thanks for all the support from the metal community."
In addition, festival organizer Scott Lee, recently announced the addition of Battlecross to the 15th annual New England Metal and Hardcore Festival in Worcester, Massachusetts. This will be the band's first appearance and will join Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, Opeth and many more.
Pursuit of Honor's three singles 'Push Pull Destroy,' 'Man of Stone' and 'Breaking You,' spent more than 50 combined weeks on Sirius XM Liquid Metal 'Devil's Dozen' list of most requested songs, with 'Push Pull Destroy' at the top spot for five weeks last spring. The accompanying video has racked up more than 1.5 million views on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miZLob1Hi4I and was the break-out track for these high-energy thrashers.

end of 1/29/13 news
How's it going Metal Heads? We're still waiting on confirmation for a couple of interviews, and we'll let you know when we get them. In the meantime here's the news for today....so far.
ICE NINE KILLS’ latest EP The Predator reached #9 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and #38 on the Independent label chart with first week sales of 1,476 copies.
The Predator EP was only available digitally and through their MerchNow store, and was funded by the band’s recently fulfilled Kickstarter campaign, which raised more than double their initial $10,000 goal (500 backers contributed $21,258 total funds). Additionally, The Predator was #15 on the iTunes rock chart and was Revolver Magazine's ‘album of the week.’
ICE NINE KILLS recently severed their relationship with Red Blue Records, and self financed a full-length album. Prior to the All Stars Tour (Suicide Silence, Unearth, The Word Alive) the band released a cover of Adele's "Someone Like You" which was incredibly well received. They followed that up by recording 10 songs for a full length. Under advisement from manager Mike Mowery (Outerloop Management) the band decided to leverage the support of their exceedingly loyal fan base and release an EP. The Predator EP contains 4 songs from the previously mentioned recordings as well as the Adele cover. The single "What I Never Learned in Study Hall” features Tyler Carter of Issues. An acoustic version of "What I Never Learned in Study Hall" was released on Take Action Volume 11.
Vocalist Spencer Charnas is extremely pleased with the sales of the The Predator EP and the dedication of the band's fan base. Charnas says, " Our incredibly loyal fans continue to impress us in every way possible. From literally funding this recording to landing us on the charts, they have yet to let us down. We cannot thank them enough for their unwavering support."
Mike Mowery states, "This is a band that has an incredibly dedicated fan base. From the time they mobilized them to win the online voting for the All Stars Tour last year, I knew they had the capacity to achieve this. Having done a few other Kickstarter campaigns before, we knew that the incentives would make or break the campaign. If done right, and the fans are truly being rewarded, Kickstarter is an incredible tool. We worked long and hard to ensure that each incentive was worth far more than what the band was asking. This is a band that cares deeply about their fans, and their fans care deeply about them. With the excitement built from this EP, the band is now in a position to be signed by an established, respected label."
The band has toured extensively since the All Stars Tour last year (supporting We Came As Romans, Abandon All Ships, Norma Jean, Atilla and Like Moths to Flames) and has a number of tours lined up (I See Stars, For All Those Sleeping, Capture The Crown and South By So What.)
The band will enter the studio in April to record their next full-length album

EIGHT BELLS: Exclusive Track Premiere Hosted By
Invisible Oranges
Today esteemed web portal Invisible Oranges offer up an exclusive premiere of “Fate And Technology” from Oregon transcendentalists EIGHT BELLS. “Fate And Technology” comes off the eclectic trio’s Billy Anderson-engineered The Captain’s Daughter debut, scheduled for release on February 19, 2013 via Seventh Rule Recordings. Describes IO in a recent review of the four-track sound explosion: “The Captain’s Daughter is a record you’ll listen to a good five times over and still be taken for a spin by that-one-part-you-forgot about. Like [bassist Haley] Westeiner’s vocals appearing out of nowhere on ‘Fate And Technology.’ That’s where the ‘instrumental when we feel like it’ identity hits. Billy Anderson’s production is so intimate we can hear Westeiner’s voice quiver as she sings, ‘Somehow I am on / Your plate through the magic of / Fate and technology.’ Then FX’ed out guitar explode into merciless psych metal and we’re back to expecting the unexpected. Keep Portland weird, indeed...” Gushes Unhallowed Nation in a perfect 5/5 rating of the record: “EIGHT BELLS’ debut album is one the most interesting, well-performed records I have heard in a while.”
Turn up and tune out to “Fate And Technology” at THIS LOCATION.
EIGHT BELLS features within its ranks SubArachnoid Space alumni Melynda Jackson and Christopher Van Huffel. A native of rural Texas, Melynda Jackson grew up an only child. The isolated grasslands and windswept landscapes of her youth would later inspire her to evoke equally mysterious terrain through experimental guitar explorations and wordless vocalizations in the now-deceased SubArachnoid Space. Now based in Portland, Oregon Jackson's EIGHT BELLS continues in SAS’ tradition of heavy guitar exploration, adding a blackened dissonance to the mix and minimalist vocals. Jackson is accompanied by classically trained six-string bassist Haley Westeiner, who also provides harmonic counterpoint to Jackson’s newly discovered vocal talents. SubArachnoid Space drummer Chris Van Huffel resumes the throne he occupied for ten years, bringing his thunderous, nuanced double kick playing with him. With this power trio, Jackson has found a group that brings focus and support to her unapologetically expressionistic experimental metal music. An approving nod from SSG Music exclaims, “EIGHT BELLS brings long-form metal compositions filled with sinister sounding guitar loops and crushing bass. Drummer Chris Van Huffel provides the glue between Melynda Jackson‘s dizzying guitar work and bassist Haley Westeiner‘s angry thumps.” As an added bonus, Kris Force of Amber Asylum appears on the title track adding a ghostly guest vocal.
End for 1/25/13

WOE To Release New Album April 23
Candlelight Records today confirms April 23 as the North American release date for Withdrawal, the third album from black metallers WOE. Produced by vocalist/guitarist Chris Grigg and mastered by Colin Marston, the album features seven new songs with a running time of 43 minutes. It is the first new material by the band since 2010’s widely regarded Quietly, Undramatically. Withdrawal reunites the band with artist and long-time friend Justin Miller.
“I spent a ton of time focusing on the production,” says Grigg in discussing the album’s creation. “We examined what WOE created since its inception in 2007 and broke it down to its core elements. The result is something that is a synthesis of the strongest elements: the unstoppable black metal ferocity of A Spell For The Death of Man mixed with the bold dynamics and smarter, more direct and personal songwriting of Quietly, Undramatically. It is our most intense, our most cohesive, our most personal.”
Recorded at studios in New York and New Jersey during the latter months of 2012, Withdrawal is a robust and penetrating album. It benefits from 18-months of live performances; something unavailable to WOE in the early years. “This is music that was made to be performed live,” Grigg notes. “Working with other people keeps WOE fresh. They bring new ideas and perspectives, fill in the gaps of my own abilities, and keep things moving when I slow down. This is the first WOE album to include not just riffs written by others but entire songs. Ruston (Grosse, drums) wrote "Ceaseless Jaws." Ben (Brand, guitar) wrote the initial draft of "Exhausted" and then we reworked it. It's also the first album to include vocals other than mine: Grzesiek (Czapla, bass/vocals) doesn't just do backups; he has entire verses in a number of songs and is more "second vocalist" than anything else.”
A/V Club calls WOE, “one of the best of a strong wave of young American black metal bands willing to play around with the boundaries of the genre.” Metal Sucks says, “sincere and relentlessly creative, WOE put a new spin on an old method. The band crafts something that gives you a good sense of the possibilities that still exist in the genre. This is the sound of black metal to come.” Popdose adds, “WOE burns the black metal rule book to create something wholly unique and desirable."
Originally launched as a one-man project, WOE released their debut, A Spell For the Death of Man, before teaming with England's Candlelight Records in 2009. Their label debut, Quietly, Undramatically, was released late October 2010 and immediately found praise. Decibel called the album "an intriguing, revolutionary blend of black metal and shoegaze-tinged post-rock sophistication." Terrorizer found it to be, "a raging slab of barely contained aggression, immeasurable parthos, and damn fine songwriting." Shortly after release, WOE was invited to perform at the March 2011 Scion Rock Fest in Pomona, CA. The band would follow that up with a number of regional dates before heading out with Mayhem for their American tour later that year.
Withdrawal Track Listing:
1. This is the End of the Story
2. Carried by Waves to Remorseless Shores of the Truth
3. All Bridges Burned

LAMB OF GOD’s CHRIS ADLER Announces Exclusive North American Endorsement and Distribution Deal with VRUK Corporation
New Video Launched Highlighting the CHRIS ADLER Signature VRUK DrumMaster Heel Plate
LAMB OF GOD’s CHRIS ADLER is pleased to announce his new, exclusive North American endorsement and distribution deal with VRUK Corporation, specifically in conjunction with the CHRIS ADLER Signature VRUK DrumMaster Heel Plate—a vital tool for drummers looking to increase endurance and speed that CHRIS ADLER himself will be distributing exclusively throughout North America.
The CHRIS ADLER Signature VRUK DrumMaster Heel Plate acts as an attachment to your current pedal setup providing heel support, rebound acceleration and control, the key factor of any drum technique. Today, CHRIS ADLER released a brand new video that shows what the VRUK DrumMaster Heel Plate is and how it works! Head to this location to view the video (click “watch video” link), read testimonials, grab coupon codes and more!
“In every aspect of my life, my intention is to seek out the very best. When it comes to drumming, I insist on it. I won't use free because it's free. I'll overpay for the tools that allow me to exceed my own expectations,” says CHRIS ADLER. “When writing the Wrath album I wore ankle weights to increase my kick drum endurance and speed. One day after a long rehearsal, I took them off and one rested under my heel. I immediately noticed that securing and resting my ankle and heel while still playing heel-up allowed much more control over each stroke. I took the ankle weights on my US and European clinic appearances and shared what I had found. I used the ankle weights under my heels every night on the following two year world tour. Fast forward to the spring of 2012 and I began R&D on creating a device that could attach to my pedal and provide consistent support and control. Mr. Vruk had beaten me to it and we were immediately in touch. The VRUK design allows for secure attachment to any pedal and grip and heel support system far greater than my homemade designs. I recently used them at the US festivals that the band just played and not only did they perform well, I performed better. With my heel and ankle able to rest between strokes, my endurance and speed have noticeably improved. This product exceeds my expectations and helps me do what I love doing.”
For more information on the CHRIS ADLER Signature VRUK DrumMaster Heel Plate and CHRIS ADLER’s new endorsement and distribution deal, visit www.vrukpedal.com. To purchase or reserve your heel plate, visit www.chris-adler.com/onlineshop/ or www.vrukpedal.com/store.html

In addition to this upcoming full-length, DEATH WOLF will also be releasing a new 7", Bloodscent, that features two different arrangements of tracks on II: Black Armoured Death. This limited 7" will be hand-numbered and pressed on white wax-- and only available at CM Distro and at the band's merch table.
DEATH WOLF was born out of the ashes of DEVILS WHOREHOUSE, a MISFITS and SAMHAIN cover band formed by Morgan Håkansson, guitar player and founding member of Swedish black metal legends MARDUK. The next chapter in the group's history begins with the release of II: Black Armoured Death, which offers fans a more varied collection of tracks, ranging from the darker DANZIG material such as SAMHAIN to the brutal, focused attack of early punk-hardcore bands such as ILL REPUTE to the blackened crust witchery of AMEBIX to the dark, textured black metal mastery of NACHTMYSTIUM to the crushing doom aesthetics of CELTIC FROST and TRIPTYKON. No matter what your dark poison, DEATH WOLF has got you covered.

Lightning Swords of Death debuts new music video for "Baphometic Chaosium" on the Deciblog
New album, "Baphometic Chaosium", released today in North America
Occult, black metal band, Lightning Swords Of Death, recently completed a bleak, new video for the title track from Baphometic Chaosium. This is the band's first ever music video and was directed by co-founder and lead vocalist, Autarch (aka the metal illustrator, Farron Loathing). The project, which also marks Autarch's directorial debut, is the result of a partnership between Farron Loathing and Mortichrome Films. It is described by its creator as "a psycho-dramatic interpretation of the Mass of Chaos and the invocation of Baphomet as performed by a collective of ritual performance artists."
Baphometic Chaosium is streaming now over on Decibel Magazine's deciblog: http://www.decibelmagazine.com.
About Baphometic Chaosium:
Nearly seven years after the release of "The Golden Plague", LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH prepares to bring forth their third full length offering, the band's second release on Metal Blade. The band had appropriately become a five piece (completing the pentacle) with the recruitment of lead guitarist "Inverted" Chris Velez, before they began developing what is described as "devotional work", dedicated to their patron god - A mind altering experience compelled by the embodiment of chaos, death and ecstasy entitled Baphometic Chaosium. To record the psychedelic devilry, they returned to Trench Studios with John Haddad again seeing to the engineering with Roskva producing, no doubt to the delight of the tributed horned deity.
"It's evil, blasphemous, violent and just self-aware enough about all those traits that it never becomes off-puttingly menacing or misanthropic." InvisibleOranges.com
"Warp-speed blackened thrash, like Goatwhore and Aura Noir in a blender set to "liquefy." Revolver Magazine
VOIVOD releases new album, 'Target Earth,' today in North America
Canadian progressive metal pioneers VOIVOD have now released their 13th studio album, Target Earth! To hear Target Earth in its entirety, please head over to Loudwire.com for the album stream. To purchase Target Earth, please visit iTunes for a digital copy or CM Distro for the album, plus a special bundle that includes the CD and an exclusive t-shirt.
Recorded at producer Pierre Rémillard's Wild Studios in Quebec and mixed by Sanford Parker (PELICAN, NACHTMYSTIUM), Target Earth features artwork by drummer Away (Michel Langevin), who used color schemes from each one of the band's previous albums to make this new masterpiece. The album brings back original bass player, Blacky (Jean Yves Thériault), marking his first recordings with the band since 1991's Angel Rat. It's also the first to feature guitarist Chewy (Daniel Mongrain), who cut his teeth playing guitar to the late Piggy's (Denis D'Amour) riffs, and thus has matched his style to a tee. VOIVOD, as a full group, hadn't sat down to write a record together since 2003's self-titled album. The end result harkens back to the group's late 80s output and after 30 years together as a band, one of their best yet.
Read on for a few reviews of VOIVOD's critically acclaimed Target Earth:
"...the long-awaited proper follow-up to ['Nothingface']." -- DECIBEL MAGAZINE (8/10)
"...the songs have enough complexity, heaviness, and clever arrangements to make 'Target Earth' the most riveting VOIVOD album in more than 20 years." -- OUTBURN MAGAZINE (8/10)
"'Target Earth' is an instant classic...a contender for Best Metal Album of 2013." -- METAL SUCKS.net
"Thirty years in, these Canadian legends are still cranking out vital and ripping tracks..." -- BROOKLYN VEGAN.com
"This is VOIVOD back to business with their best record since 1990's 'Nothingface.'" -- AOL NOISECREEP.com
VREID: Norwegian Black ‘N’ Roll Legion Release New Single
Today Norwegian black ‘n’ roll legion VREID release new single “The Way Of The Serpent” from their forthcoming new full-length, Welcome Farewell. Cold and compelling, the follow-up to 2011’s Norwegian Grammy-nominated album V, which Decibel Magazinecalled, “…VREID’s finest hour,” was recorded at bassist Hváll’s own Studio 1184 and is set for North American release via Indie Recordings March 5, 2013.
Described by Metal Hammer UK as a “unique time-travel in metal,” commending their merge of ‘70s rock, ‘80s classic metal and Norwegian black metal, with the eight-track Welcome Farewell VREID again add a new twist to their already difficult-to-pinpoint sound. Comments Hváll of the new material, “It’s been a lot of work, but we are utterly pleased with the result. ‘Dark,’ ‘heavy’ and ‘VREID’ are the three keywords to describe it.”
Feast your ears on “The Way Of The Serpent” at THIS LOCATION.
And if you missed it, sample “The Reap” courtesy of the metal tyrants at Terrorizer HERE!
Welcome Farewell Track Listing:
1. The Ramble
2. The Way Of The Serpent
3. The Devil’s Hand
4. Welcome Farewell
5. The Reap
6. Sights of Old
7. Black Waves
8. At The Brook
VREID formed in 2004 following the demise of ‘’Sognametal” legends Windir. Some described their music as a fusion of Windir’s ambiance, the rawness of Norwegian black metal and the molten groove of Sepultura, Metallica and Motörhead blended with historically inspired lyrics. Their third and fourth offerings, I Krig and Milorg, were both concept albums based around the liberation work in Norway during World War II. Liberation was also the keyword on V, but put in a broader historical/philosophic perspective. The lyrics on Welcome Farewell describe a lifecycle through a series of short stories, seen from an existential point of view and, inspired by Hváll’s own local community with its nature, architecture and historical artists such as Arne Garborg and Otto Valstad, are more personal than ever before
VREID:
Hváll - Bass
Sture - Vocals/Guitar
Strom - Guitar
Steingrim - Drums

Watain Enter Studio
His Masters Noise and Century Media are proud to announce the beginning of a new chapter of the WATAIN epos! The band comments:
"Since the harvest, WATAIN have been occupied with preparations for a long and hard journey. Seeds have been sown, blades have been sharpened and new fires have been lit to illuminate the untrodden tunnels that lay before us as we descend further down the maze..."
And so it was that on the 3rd of January, 3 years on the day since the recording of Lawless Darkness did commence, WATAIN returned to Necromorbus Studio and begun working on what is to become the 5th full length album. The tentative time of release is now set for August 2013. More details will be unveiled soon.
